The Guardian Angel Ward celebrated the feast of nativity on Sunday, 11 September 2022 at the residence of Gurkar Mrs. Gracy D’Souza. The ward meeting preceded the celebration. After the ward meeting the celebration of the feast commenced with singing a hymn in honour of Mother Mary and offering flowers.
Rev. Fr. William Menezes, Parish Priest was the Chief Guest of the programme. Mr. Noel Pinto, Vice President of the Parish Pastoral Council; Mrs. Lolina D’Souza, Secretary of the Parish Pastoral Council; Sr. Anitha, Sr. Shalini, Sr. Amulya from Capitanio convent; Mr. Anil Rasquinha, Gurkar of Mother Theresa ward along with ward representatives Mr. Jossy D’Cunha and Ms. Joslin D’Souza were the guests of honour. Children of the ward sang the prayer song. Mrs. Joyce D’Souza welcomed the gathering. The guests were welcomed with roses.
Ms. Ria Monalisa D’Souza, Ms. Ashwitha Monalisa D’Souza and Clerina Minal Mascarenhas were felicitated by the Chief Guest and guests of honour, for their academic excellence. In his message, Rev. Fr. William said that unity and cordiality among the families of a ward the key to building a strong bond within the ward. This would ultimately result in more and more families participating in the monthly ward meetings. Sr. Anitha appreciated the unity of the ward members.
Three girls presented an enchanting dance. Ms. Adline Pinto, a talented singer, conducted the games and compèred the programme. Gurkar Mrs. Gracy D’Souza proposed the vote of thanks. The programme concluded with relishing the traditional meals of the feast of nativity, prepared by the ladies of the ward.
