Catholic Sabha – Entrepreneurs’ Day

Catholic Sabha Angelore Unit organised Entrepreneurs’ Day on 19th June 2022 from 9 am to 11 am at the Golden Jubilee Memorial Hall. The programme commenced with a hymn by Mr. Rajesh Misquith and team. Mr. Felix Moras, President, welcomed the gathering and Mr. Roshan Patrao, Community Development Convener, gave the keynote address elaborating the objective of the programme. In his message, Rev. Fr. William Menezes, Parish Priest and Spiritual Director, said that in today’s scenario, the doors of politics, government jobs and educational institutions are virtually closed for Catholics. The only avenue for us to make our presence felt in the society is entrepreneurship. Mr. Ullas Rasquinha, Proprietor, Jerosa Company and Mr. Anil Pinto, Proprietor, Anil Security Systems were the resource persons.

Mr. Rasquinha said that the advantages of entrepreneurship are that we are our own boss and are the job creators. He gave the examples of successful Catholic entrepreneurs during the discourse. Mr. Rasquinha also gave examples of successful business communities and the reasons for their success. He elaborated on the requirements to run a business successfully. On the other hand, Mr. Pinto said we should be like salt. He said that just as salt gives the extra taste to the dish we should give incorporate the extra ingredient that makes our business special and successful. While saying that attitude plays bigger role in business, he emphasised the importance of financial discipline in running a business successfully.

The talks were followed by an interaction session where the questions of the audience were answered by the resource persons. Mr. Paul Rodrigues, Secretary, gave the vote of thanks. Mr. Alwyn D’Souza compèred the programme.
