Lent is the time to purify our heart in preparation for the resurrection of Jesus Christ. To rekindle the spirit of the Lenten season, a 2-hour retreat was held for the executive committee members of Catholic Sabha Mangalore Pradesh® City Varado on 26th March 2023 at Guardian Angel Church.
Well known orator Rev. Fr Andrew D’Souza, Parish Priest, Holy Spirit Church, Bajal, conducted the retreat. He elaborated on how God stood by His people during Exodus and protected them from enemies. Citing the life of Jesus Christ, he said Jesus was a true revolutionary. He called the faithful to emulate the life of Jesus Christ. He did not call the rich to continue His mission on earth, the simple and humble people. He loved everyone, he listened to them patiently, and decentralised the responsibilities and sent his disciples to proclaim the Word of God.
The retreat concluded with confessions and blessing of the Holy Sacrament.
