With Rev. Fr Gerald Francis Pinto taking charge as Socius at the Church of Our Lady of Miracles, Milagres on 12th June 2024, curtains were down on the process of transfer of priests at Angelore.
At 4.30 p.m. on 12th June 2024, parishioners gathered at Guardian Angel Church to escort Rev. Fr Gerald Francis Pinto, who served as Socius for a year, to the Church of Our Lady of Miracles, Milagres.
After Rev. Fr Gerald blessed the parishioners, they proceeded in convoy to Milagres church. Rev. Fr Bonaventure Nazareth, Parish Priest of Milagres Church, along with other priests, Vice President and Secretary of PPC, and parishioners, welcomed Rev. Fr Gerald and the parish priest and parishioners of Angelore. This was followed by the customary prayer service. After the prayer service a welcome programme ensued. Rev. Fr Bonaventure Nazareth gave the welcome address. The Vice President of the PPC gave a glimpse of Milagres parish. Rev. Fr Fredrick Monteiro, Parish Priest of Guardian Angel Church shared his experience with Rev. Fr Gerald. Finally, Rev. Fr Gerald thanked the parishioners of Guardian Angel Church.
The presence of children and youth of Angelore – many of them in their school/college uniform – was proof enough for the cordial relationship Rev. Fr Gerald had with them.
The parishioners of Angelore wished Rev. Fr Gerald well in his new mission and bid farewell to him.
