The Sports Day was organised for the members of Altar Servers, YCS and AYM on 16th October 2022 to rejuvenate the youth and to bring out the spirit of sportsmanship within them at 3 pm of 16th October 2022 at the Angelore church ground. The events included Cricket match for the boys and Dodge Ball for the girls.
The event was inaugurated at 4 pm, which was followed by cricket match. Before the commencement of the mach, the rules were read out. The first match was between YCS and Altar Servers, in which YCS won the match. Second match was between AYM and altar boys and altar boys won the match. Third match was played between AYM and YCS. Here AYM took the lead. Since all the teams had won the matches, the semi-finals was played between AYM and YCS. AYM won the match. Altar boys were directly qualified for finals as they had higher score. The final match was played between AYM and altar boys. The AYM won the match by 10 wickets.
The dodge ball match commenced at 5.30 pm for AYM, YCS and altar girls. The first match was played between altar girls and YCS. The first match was won by altar girls. Second dodge ball match was played between AYM and YCS, and AYM took the lead. The finals were played between AYM and altar girls. The AYM won the finals.
The trophies to the winners were given away by Rev. Fr Lawrence Cutinha. He congratulated all the youths for taking active part in the events. Mr. Keith Noronha thanked the referees Mr. Adele and Mr. Prashanth.
The curtains were drawn on the event with music and dance, i.e., Baila, making the youth sports day livelier and more jubilant.
