On 24th October 2022, the serene environ of Fermai church was in for a change. As the sun rose on the horizon evaporating the dewdrops on the leaves with its tender rays, the YCS members of various parishes under the St Peter City Deanery descended at the church premises to display their sporting prowess. The event was none other than “Khela Dabazo - 2022”, the deanery level YCS Sports Meet.
The programme began with a prayer song led by Fermai Parish. Vicar Forane of the City Deanery Rev. Fr. James D’Souza inaugurated the sports meet and wished all the participants good luck for the sports meet.
The events included cricket, throw ball, dodge ball, lagory, relay, shot put, tug of war, spot dance and treasure hunt was conducted for YCS members. Total 10 parishes of the Deanery participated in sports meet. Every YCS member of the deanery showed their efforts and enthusiasm in every event to be the winner. The whole church ground of Fermai was buzzing with the YCS members’ zeal.
YCS Angelore secured first place in tug of war and spot dance; first and second place in shot put (male and female); and third place in relay. They have made their parents, animators and Parish as a whole proud by bagging the overall championship. Kudos to the team!
Valedictory ceremony of the sports meet began at 5.45 p.m. with Mr. Anil D’Souza, Director of MCC Bank as the Chief Guest. He distributed the prizes to the winners of the events. Valedictory programme ended with the Baila dance.
