Teachers’ Day celebration
Catholic Sabha, Mangalore Pradesh, Angelore unit celebrated the Teachers’ Day on 9th September 2018, in the Golden Jubilee Memorial Hall at 9:00 a.m. Nearly 70 teachers of the locality were present and were felicitated by Mr. Roshan Patrao, the secretary of the Catholic Sabha.
Mr. Paul Rodrigues (M.A. B.Ed.) was the Chief Guest of the day. Being a teacher himself, he shared his experience of 30 years as teacher. He spoke on the role of a teacher in the modern society. He further said that teachers have a great mission and responsibility not only to impart knowledge but also to strengthen the students with life values.
Rev Fr William Menezes, the Parish Priest of Angelore presided over the function. In his address he said teaching is a vocation, Christ is our Supreme Master, Bible is the guiding force, a good teacher must be inspired from Christ and his teachings. Mr. Albert Lasrado, the President of the Catholic Sabha welcomed the gathering. A few lively spot games were conducted by Mrs. Dora Rodrigues for the teachers and prizes were distributed to the winners. Mrs. Cecilia Pinto conducted the program and Mr. Ivan Disilva, the vice president of Catholic Sabha, proposed the vote of thanks.
