On 5th September we celebrate the birthday of former President of India S. Radhakrishnan as Teachers’ Day. Teachers are the unsung heroes who lay the foundation of our future and shape our lives. The contribution of Catholic teachers in building the nation is undisputed. To honour the teachers, YCS celebrated Teachers’ Day on 1st September 2024.
The liturgy of the Holy Eucharist was led by the teachers. After the mass, a cultural programme was organised at the Golden Jubilee Memorial Hall. The programme began with prayer song by the YCS members. Mrs. Jane D’Souza who is also the Gurkar of St. Michael Ward II was the Chief Guest.
The YCS members entertained the teachers with various games, dance and a comedy skit. The commemorate the Day, mementos were distributed to the teachers.

Fr Fredrick Monteiro, Parish Priest; Mr. Paul Rodrigues, Vice President of the PPC; Mrs. Lolina D’Souza, Secretary; Ms. Renita Menezes, Animator of YCS and Coordinator of Parish Commissions; Mr. Anup Veigas, Secretary of Education Commission; and Mr. Roshan Patrao, Animator of YCS were present on the dais.
Melora Monteiro compèred the programme. Leon D’Souza, President of YCS, welcomed the gathering. Sheldon Menezes, Secretary, proposed the Vote of Thanks. Richelle Lobo conducted the games.
