Come rain or shine, children are always effervescent. During the school days or during holidays they need an avenue to channel their energy. Summer Camps are not just an occasion to keep them occupied, but also to bring out the best out of them.
Summer camp for the children of Guardian Angel church was held on 22nd and 23rd of April 2024 at the Golden Jubilee Memorial Hall for the children from 4th to 10th standard. Sixty-seven children participated in the church. Br. Loywin, Br. Flexon and Br. Vinol conducted the camp. The camp was formally inaugurated on 22nd April by Rev. Fr William Menezes, Parish Priest. Rev. Fr Jerald Pinto, Socius; Mr. Paul Rodrigues, Vice President of Parish Pastoral Council; Mrs. Lolina D’Souzam Secretary of PPC; Sr. Celine __ and Ms. Renita Menezes, Coordinator of 21 Pastoral Commissions were also present. The placards depicting good values were affixed on a flower pot by the dignitaries as a symbolic gesture.
When an event takes place in the parish, there is no dearth of people lending a helping hand. The parishioners of goodwill, religious sisters from the various convents of the parish and the youth helped in conducting the camp. Several games and activities were conducted to bring out the creativity, sportsmanship and collegiality of the children.
The programme concluded at 4.00 pm on 23rd April 2024 and children left home with sparkles in their eyes.
