Parish Day-2022

Guardian Angel Church, Angelore, Mangalore was teeming with festive mood on 20th February 2022 because of celebration of the Parish Day. Rev. Fr William Menezes, Parish priest and Rev.Fr Lawrence Cutinha Assistant Parish Priest concelebrated the thanksgiving Holy mass at 7.30 am. The parishioners took active part in the liturgy and Eucharistic Celebration.

In the evening, a grand cultural programme was organised. The programme started at 5.30 pm. Rev. Fr. Vincent Monteiro, Parish Priest of Bendur Church was the Chief Guest. Mr. Noel Pinto, Vice President of the Parish Pastoral Council welcomed the gathering. Mrs. Lolina D’Souza, Secretary of the Parish Pastoral Council presented the report of the activities and events of the past year. Five parishioners who excelled in their respective fields were honoured. This was followed by honouring the past and present Vice Presidents and Secretaries of the Parish Pastoral Council. The Chief Guest was honoured on completing 40 years of priesthood. The chief Guest In his address congratulated the parish for coming together and being united in celebrating the Parish Day. He emphasized that the unity among the parishioners helps in growth of the parish and such activities will definitely build up the bonding as one family. He thanked the Parish Priest, Assistant parish priest and all the parishioners for honouring him.

The Parish Priest, Rev. Fr William Menezes, in his address quoted the famous saying of John F. Kennedy, “Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for the country”. He urged the parishioners to utilise their time and talent for the welfare of the parish and in return, they would get a platform to present their unique qualities, recognition and God’s abundant blessings. Rev.Fr Lawrence Cutinha, Assistant Parish Priest, and Sr.Lizzy Sebastian, superior of Belvedere convent and Sr. Jacintha, superior St Ann’s providence convent, Mr Roshan Patrao coordinator of 21 commission were the other dignitaries on the dais. Mr. Maxim D’Souza, Convener of the Youth Welfare and Cultural Committee proposed the Vote of Thanks. Mr. Paul Rodrigues and Mr. Anup Veigas compered the programme

A cultural programme followed the formal programme. Religious sisters as well as the members of Women’s Association, Angelore Youth Movement and Young Catholic Students (YCS) presented a variety of Cultural programmes. The star of the evening was the comedy drama “Keppyachim Khestavam”. The programme concluded with sumptuous dinner.
