The members of Gabriel Ward III celebrated the feast of Nativity of Mary on 10th September 2022 at the residence of Mrs. Florine Walder at 6:45 PM. Rev. Fr. William Menezes, Parish Priest; Mr. Noel Pinto, Vice President of the Parish Pastoral Council; Mrs. Lolina D'Souza, Secretary of the Parish Pastoral Council; Mr. Roshan Patrao, Coordinator of 21 Commissions and Mr. Praveen Chandra Alva, Corporator presided over the celebration.
The celebration began with a prayer service and the Parish Priest reflected upon the Word of God. Those present offered a flower to Mother Mary. Mr. Felix Moras, the Gurkar of the ward, welcomed the gathering. As part of the celebration, the students who excelled in academics were felicitated. A felicitation ceremony was also held for the immediate past Gurkar of the ward, Mr. Ron Michael Vas. This was followed by welcome to the new Gurkar Mr. Felix Moras. Mr. Felix Moras celebrated his birthday by cutting the cake, which fell on the same day. Mr. Alston Vas presented a dance performance.
Mr. Manu Bantwal and Ms. Disha Moras entertained the gathering with Housie Housie. Not to be left behind, ward members entertained the gathering by their Manddo. Rev. Fr. William Menezes blessed the meals. To re-live the past tradition, the dinner was served on banana leaves. The celebration was compèred by Mr. Manu Bantwal, Ms. Gladlin Mascarenhas and Master Glavin Mascarenhas.
