The feast of Nativity of Nativity of Blessed Virgin Mary was celebrated on the afternoon of 10th September 2023 at the residence of the Gurkar, Mr. Paul Rodrigues. The programme commenced with honouring Infant Mary with flowers. Then, going by the tradition, the ward members drank sweetened coconut milk mixed with rice grain blessed on the feast of Nativity.
As this was an occasion for all ward members to assemble together, the children of the ward were honoured for their academic excellence. The children gave a musical presentation on the importance of protecting nature. The youth entertained the gathering with a breathtaking dance. Mrs. Rose Maria conducted the games.
Rev. Fr Gerald Pinto, Socius Priest; Mrs. Lolina D’Souza, Secretary of the Parish Pastoral Council; Ms. Renita Menezes, Coordinator of 21 Pastoral Commissions; and Rev. Sr Lizzy Sebastian and Rev. Sr Molly graced the programme as guests.
Mr. Paul Rodrigues welcomed the gathering. Mr. Rohan D’Costa compèred the programme. Mrs. Philomena Menezes proposed the vote of thanks.
The programme concluded with a sumptuous meal that comprised the delicacies of the feast prepared by the ward members at home.
