Lurdes Ward I celebrated the feast of nativity at the residence of Mrs. Carmine vas in the evening of Sunday, 10th September 2023. Rev. Fr William Menezes Parish Priest was present and showered his blessings with his presence. Gurkar of the ward, Mrs. Asha Martis welcomed the gathering. Mrs. Cecilia D’Souza, led the prayer service, the members of the ward offered flowers to Mother Mary singing the classic hymn ‘ಮರಿಯೆಕ್ ಹೊಗೊಳ್ಸಿಯಾಂ’. Mrs. Irene Robert conveyed the importance of Mother Mary to the members of the ward. The gathering savoured the traditional ‘ವೊರ್ನ್’ mixed with the new corn.
Mrs. Asha Martis and Mrs. Zita Moras entertained the gathering with games and prizes were given away to the winners. Mrs. Amy Fernandes conducted quiz on Mother Mary. Teachers’ Day and Elders’ Day were celebrated by honourung the teachers and elders of the ward. The programme concluded with refreshments. Mr. Neilesh Rasquinha gave the Vote of Thanks. 45 members were present for the programme. Mrs. Marina Fernandes compèred the programme.
