The mega auction of items as part of Mission Sunday was organised at Guardian Angel Church on 23rd October 2022 at the church premises after the 7.30 a.m. and 9.30 a.m. masses. Mission Sunday is one Sunday in the year when the entire global Church comes together to support missionary work. And every single donation from these activities worldwide goes to support churches, hospitals, schools and vocations in countries where the Church is new, young or poor. The amount collected through contribution and auction is used for specific cause pooled collectively by the parishes and sent for the noble cause.
The mega auction included the items donated by the parishioners. The auction included items like laptop, electronic gadgets, household items, consumer durables, electric equipment’s, personal care products, agricultural produce, poultry, etc. There was also sale of idlis, as well as chicken and pork dishes. Many parishioners enthusiastically participated in the Mega auction to make their contribution immensely for the noble cause. At times the spirit of auction was heightened by the close contest between the bidders. The parishioners had the option of relishing idli and tea served at the stalls. The auction was conducted by Mr. Manohar Saldanha (Manu Bantwal) assisted by Mrs. Dora Rodrigues, Mr. Felix Moras, Mr. Noel Pinto, Mrs. Lolina D’Souza as well as the members of Sthree Sanghatan.
