Humanity First Foundation, the association that lends a helping hand to the poorest of the poor irrespective of their caste and creed, and Laity Apostolate Commission, Guardian Angel Church, Angelore, jointly organised Mike Simon Nite on 23rd October 2022.
The formal programme was presided over by Rev. Fr. William Menezes, Parish Priest, Guardian Angel Church, Angelore. In his message, he highlighted the service of Mother Theresa and called upon all to follow her footsteps.
Mr. Rajesh Misquith, President of HFF welcomed the guests of honour Mr. David D’Souza, Proprietor, DCONS Group; Mr. Praveen Tauro, Marketing Manager, Daijiworld; Mr. Elias Fernandes, Director, Fourwinds Mass Communications; Mr. Santhosh Sequeira, Proprietor, Santhosh Arrangers; Mr. Richard Moras, Convener, Konkani Writers’ Association; Mr. Stanley Bantwal, Proprietor Anvitha Photography and Ancita Videography; and the audience.
Singer, stage actor and compère Mr. Joseph Pinto, Angelore was felicitated for his contribution to the Konkani culture.
The Nite was organised to pay homage to late Mr. Sharon Alva, former National Vice President, H. F. F. to fulfil his dreams. While Mr. Rajesh Misquith sang a song in his honour, Mrs. Diana, wife of late Mr. Sharon Alva and the dignitaries on the dais offered floral tribute to him.
Mrs. Mariette Fernandes gave a glimpse of H. F. F. and its activities. A needy family was given financial assistance of Rs. 30,000.
Mr. Claud D’Souza, Mr. Ivan Sequeira, Mr. Joseph Pinto, Mrs. Zeena Pereira, Mrs. Priscilla Sequeira, Mr. Rajesh Misquith, Ms. Bindu Cutinha, Ms. Olinca Lobo, Ms. Disha Moras, Melinda Pereira, Baby Ria Misquith sang the songs composed by Mr. Mike Simon who is better known as “Dream Boy.” Stree Sanghatan and YCS, Angelore as well as the youth of Bondel complemented the songs with their enthralling dance. Pappan and Joswin provided the music.
Mr. Joseph Pinto, Mr. Jerome Moras, Mr. Nielesh Rasquinha and Mrs. Joyce D’Souza of “Mangalore Maskiri” tickled the funny bone of the spectators with their comedies. The stage programme was compèred by Mr. Floyd D’Mello and the musical event was compèred by Mr. Jude Noronha. Mr. Noel Pinto, Convener of Laity Apostolate Commission, Angelore and member of H. F. F., gave the vote of thanks.
