Konkani Singing Competition

The Parish Pastoral Council of Guardian Angel Church, Angelore, organised Konkani singing competition to encourage the budding singers of the parish at the Golden Jubilee Memorial Hall on 21^st August 2022 3 pm onwards. The singing competition included solo (male and female), duet (male and female) and mixed duet for children (5 to 11 years), adolescents (12 to 18 years), young adults (19 to 30 years) and above 30 years and for couples. The programme commenced at 3 pm with introductory note by Ms. Renita Menezes. Ms. Reema Sequeira read out the rules for the competition. Rev. Fr William Menezes, Parish Priest; Rev. Fr. Lawrence Cutinha, Assistant Parish Priest; Mr. Noel Pinto, Vice President; Mrs. Lolina D’Souza, Secretary of the Parish Pastoral Council, Mr. Roshan Patrao, Coordinator of Parish Commissions, Mr. Felix Moras and Mrs. Precilla Sequeira, the organisers of the event were the dignitaries on the dais. The program commenced with a prayer song. Mrs Precilla Sequeira welcomed the gathering. The dignitaries on the dais inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp. Rev. Fr. William Menezes in his inaugural speech congratulated the parishioners for taking active part in the singing competition. He said singing always keeps the heart and mind enthusiastic and wished the competition and participants all success. 

Rev. Fr. Shawn Rodrigues, Ms. Velita Lobo and Mrs. Silvia Fernandes were the judges for the competition. Mrs Silvia on behalf of the judges congratulated all the participants and appreciated the singing. The winners in each category were awarded the prizes by Fr. William Menezes, Fr. Lawrence Cutinha, Mr Noel Pinto and Mrs. Lolina D’Souza. The judges were also felicitated. The members of the YCS unit of Angelore entertained the audience with their thrilling dance performance at the end. The programme was compèred by Ms. Kim Noronha and the Vote of Thanks was proposed by Mr. Felix Moras. Nearly 70 parishioners took part in the singing competition in various categories.
