Good Friday is observed in commemoration of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, and is characterised by sorrow, penance and fasting. The adoration of the Holy Eucharist by various wards of the parish resumed at 7.00 a.m. At 11.00 a.m. the faithful of the parish converged at the church for the Way of the Cross, which was conducted by the members of Angelore Youth Movement and Young Catholic Students. The hour-long devotion brought vivid reflections of the fourteen Stations of the Cross in the minds of the faithful.
In the evening, the ceremony commenced at 6.00 p.m. The theme of the day was ‘Cross, the symbol of God’s love.’ Rev. Fr William Menezes, Parish Priest, gave thought-provoking homily on how God expressed His love for humans through the cross by sending his only son as our Saviour.
As part of the ceremony, prayers were offered for different categories of people. This was followed by kissing the cross. The ceremony concluded with receiving the Holy Communion and the faithful left for their home in peace.
