After waiting anxiously, the day all were looking forward to finally arrived. The casting of votes would start at 7.00 a.m., but some polling booths were bustling with the electorate as early as at 6.30 a.m. This shows the faith we have kept in the process of democratically electing our government.
The polling booths of the electorate of Guardian Angel Church were spread across Bajal, Padil, Kannur, Nagori, and Capitanio. While some voters went early to vote so that they can attend to their other work afterwards, the elderly preferred to exercise their franchise in the late hours of the day.
When the parish was bustling with the enthusiasm of voting, a group of parishioners was monitoring the voting to ensure 100% voting. The Gurkars and ward representatives were calling each and every household to remind them to vote and furnish the details of voting; the members of Catholic Sabha were busy tabulating the figures furnished by them.
At 6.00 p.m. as the sun was setting on the west, the curtains were down on the festival of democracy. All the parishioners who toiled behind the entire process were all smiles at the end of the day as majority of the parishioners had voted.
