FIRST HOLY COMMUNION

Sacraments make us holy and strengthen our bond with Jesus Christ. The sacrament of Eucharist is exciting to receive as it is the first sacrament we receive after becoming aware of the world. When asked “which is the most memorable day of your life?” by a scribe, Napoleon Bonaparte replied, “the day I received my first Holy Communion”.

The feeling was not different in the 22 children of the parish who received their First Holy Communion on 7th May 2023. The angelic look on their face was enhanced by the spotless white robes they wore. The celebration of Holy Eucharist commenced as the children – along with their parents – marched into the church in grand procession.

Rev. Fr William Menezes, Parish Priest, concelebrated the mass with Rev. Fr Lawrence Cutinho, Assistant Parish Priest, and Rev. Fr Dinesh Cutinha, Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The liturgy was led by the children receiving First Holy Communion. The children’s choir made the Eucharistic celebration more meaningful with their melodious singing.
