The choir of Guardian Angel Church celebrated the feast of their patron St. Cecilia on 24th November 2024 at the Golden Jubilee Memorial Hall.
The event began with solemn prayer led by Mrs. Prescilla Sequeira. Rev. Fr Fredrick Monteiro, Parish Priest; Rev. Fr Stany Fernandes, Socius; Deacon Br Jeevan Lobo; Mr. Paul Rodrigues, Vice President of the PPC; Mrs. Lolina D’Souza, Secretary of PPC; and Ms. Renita Menezes, Coordinator of Parish Commissions, were present on the dais. In his address, Fr. Frederick Monteiro underscored the significance of consistent choir participation and the value of singing hymns without instrumental accompaniments.
A key moment of the celebration was honouring Mr. Melwyn Peris, the choir master, on his birthday, highlighting his dedication and leadership. Mr. Felix Fernandes and Ms. Hilda were also lauded for their enduring and devoted service to the choir. Various games were conducted to entertain the gathering. The event concluded at 9 PM, leaving attendees with a sense of fulfillment and treasured memories from a meaningful and vibrant celebration. Mr. Daryl Monteiro compèred the programme.
