On the evening of 28th September 2024 the premises of Guardian Angel church were bustling with activity: roadsides from Nagori to Capitanio were being decorated, a welcome arc at the entrance of Guardian Angel Church road was erected, decorations were being put up in and around the church, games stalls were being put up. In a way, preparations for the feast of Guardian Angel were in full swing.
The Triduum of the feast began on the evening of Sunday, 29th September 2024, with Confraternity Sunday. Rev. Fr. Vincent D’Souza, Secretary of CODP, concelebrated the Holy Eucharist. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament followed the mass. After the Adoration, procession from Guardian Angel Church to Capitanio ensued, culminating in the blessing of the Holy Eucharist. The proprietor and staff of Excel Gym distributed cake and soft drinks to the devotees.
The second day of Triduum, which marked the Vespers, was held on the evening of 1st October 2024. Rev. Fr Lawrence Cutinho, Assistant Parish Priest, St. Sebastian Church, Bendore and former Assistant Parish Priest of Angelore, led the service. After the religious ceremony, the youth presented a Flash Mob which was followed by various games.
2nd October 2024 marked the final day of the Triduum, the feast of Guardian Angel. The Eucharistic celebration began at 10.00 a.m. Rev. Fr. William Menezes, former Parish Priest concelebrated the Holy Eucharist with Rev. Fr Fredrick Monteiro, Parish Priest; Rev. Fr Stany Fernandes, Socius; and priests of the Deanery. Keeping with the tradition, candles were distributed to the donors before the mass.
It was all fun and frolic after the celebration of the Holy Eucharist. The young and old alike thronged the food and games stalls. They tried their luck in the games stalls and tasted the savouries in the food stalls. The curtains fell down on the festivities at about 1.30 pm.
