FEAST OF GUARDIAN ANGEL

The titular feast of Guardian Angel Church, Angelore was celebrated on 2nd October 2023 with grandeur. On the eve of the feast Holy Eucharist was celebrated followed by vespers – the traditional evening prayers. The devotion was led by Rev. Fr. Maxim Rosario, Estate Manager of Mangalore Diocese. In his homily, he dealt with the importance of strong family bond. After the vespers the parishioners were treated with a variety of entertainment stalls by the members of Angelore Youth Movement and Young Catholic Students. The late evening showers could hardly dampen the unrelenting spirit of the youth.

On 2nd October 2023, the Faithful gathered in large numbers to celebrate the feast of Guardian Angel. Prior to the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, the donors and members of the Parish Pastoral Council were honoured with the traditional candles. The Eucharistic celebration commenced with a procession led by Mr. Paul Rodrigues, the Vice President of the PPC from the Golden Jubilee Memorial Hall. Rev. Fr. Joseph Martis, Parish Priest of Most Holy Redeemer Church, Derebail concelebrated the mass with Vicar Forane of City Deanery Rev. Fr James D’Souza, Rev. Fr William Menezes, Rev. Fr Gerald Pinto and guest priests of the Deanery. In his beautifully worded homily, Fr Martis he elaborated on how the Holy Family lived by the Word of God.

After the Eucharistic celebrations the youth of the parish entertained the parishioners with various games. There were also fresh fruit juice stalls, toy stalls and ice cream stalls to cater to the fancy of each and every person. The attraction of the day was the ubiquitous game of Housie-Housie, conducted by AYM in aid of their programmes for the year. As the clock moved past midday, the crowd thinned and the curtains were down on the fun and frolic of the festivities.
