The Angelore Youth Movement, the premier youth organisation of Guardian Angel Church, organised Fancy Dress competition for the parishioners on the evening of 9th August 2026 at the Golden Jubilee Memorial Hall. The registration commenced at 3:30 p.m. Approximately 160 participants from infants up to those studying in 10th standard and ward members in general representing various categories participated in the competition.
God’s blessings were invoked with a prayer song by the members of AYM. Mr. Jeethan D’Souza, President of AYM, welcomed the gathering. The judges comprised Rev. Fr Maxim D’Souza, Sr Caroline D’Silva and Rev. Fr Denzil Rodrigues.
The uniqueness of each presentation brought forward the creativity of the parishioners. Following the competition, the youth presented a special dance performance in celebration of Youth Sunday, which was observed on the same day.
The formal stage programme followed thereafter. The dignitaries present on the dais included Rev. Fr Fredrick Monteiro, Parish Priest and Director of AYM; Rev. Fr Avil Santhmayor, Assistant Parish Priest and Assistant Director of AYM; Mr. Robin Vas and Ms. Sylvia D’Souza, AYM Animators; the judges of the competition; Mr. Roshan Patrao, Vice President of the Parish Pastoral Council; Ms. Renita Menezes, Secretary of the Parish Pastoral Council; Mr. Jeethan D’Souza, President of AYM; and Ms. Olinca Lobo, Secretary of AYM.
Addressing the gathering, Rev. Fr Maxim D’Souza shared his observations and appreciation regarding the competition. He congratulated all the participants for their enthusiastic involvement and commended their creativity and efforts.
In his Presidential address Rev. Fr Fredrick Monteiro, congratulated the organisers, participants, volunteers, and all those who contributed to the successful conduct of the programme.
Ms. Olinca Lobo, Secretary of AYM proposed the vote of thanks. The prize distribution ceremony was conducted by Mr. Robin Vas.
