ELOCUTION COMPETITION BY CATHOLIC SABHA

The Angelore Unit of Catholic Sabha Mangalore Pradesh® conducted the elocution competition for the year 2022-23 on Sunday, 20 October 2022 at 3.00 p.m. at the Church Mini Hall.

Mr. Felix Moras, President of the unit welcomed the contestants and their parents. He also elaborated on the intention of conducting the competition. Rev. Fr. Lawrence Cutinha, Assistant Parish Priest, led the prayer and wished all the participants well. Ms. Adline D’Souza introduced the judges: Mr. Francis Gonsalves from Neermarga unit and Mrs. Sharal D’Souza from Kelarai unit.

There were five categories. A total of 24 children and youth participated in the competition and exhibited their oratory skill. There were three prizes, namely, first, second and third. The prize included a certificate and cash reward. Recognising the effort put in by the participants to prepare for the competition, those who could not make it to the top three were awarded participation certificate and cash prize.

Mr. Paul Rodrigues, Secretary of the unit proposed the vote of thanks. Snacks and juice were distributed to participants and their parents.

Category I: Up to 2nd standard

Category 2: 3rd and 4th standard

First: Lareina Lobo

Second: Krishel Liyana Tauro

Category III: 5th to 7th standard

First: Stacy Olivera

Second: Nishan Angelo Vas

Category IV: 8th to 10th standard

First: Janicia Doyel Saldanha

Second: Princia Shalom Pinto

Category V: PUC and those completing 28 years by 31.12.2022

First: Velisha Reema Fernandes

Second: Prem Sanyu Rodrigues
