Confraternity Sunday

Confraternity Sunday

The feast of confraternity (Comprichem Festh) was celebrated with traditional joy and devotion to the Blessed Sacrament on 30th September at Guardian angel Church, Angelore, in anticipation of the Parish Feast on 2nd October. The entire parish offered the Eucharistic Mass together at 5.30 pm as one Eucharistic Community. Rev Msgr. Maxim Noronha was the Main Celebrant. In his homily, he stressed the importance of Jesus the Bread of Life in every walk of our life. He emphasized the need of having a healthy small Christian community by breaking us for one another. He said, “Let’s come, share and dine together.”

The Eucharistic celebration was followed by the procession of the Blessed Sacrament , in which the entire parish community, the young and the old took part in it. The Brass band played the musical notes of the hymns; the parishioners participated in devotional singing. The colourful decoration all along the way with quotes from the scripture added magnificence to the entire celebration. Rev Fr. William  Menezes, the Parish priest and Fr. Denzil Lobo, the Assistant Parish priest along with the leaders of the wards took extra initiative in encouraging the parishioners all along the week in their preparations for this great day.

After the procession, the parishioners assembled at the Capitanio school grounds to participate in the Benediction.

The entire proceeding of the Confraternity Sunday displayed nothing but the immense faith and devotion, people have for Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament.
