Confraternity is the essence and strength of a healthy community or society of any form. It forms a strong bond among its members, either religious or otherwise. Ahead of celebrating the feast of their patron on 2nd October, the Faithful of Guardian Angel Church observed Confraternity Sunday on 24th September 2023.
The Eucharistic celebration of the day began at 5.30 pm, led by the Parish Pastoral Council, accompanied by brass band. The celebration began with grand procession led by the Vice President of the Parish Pastoral Council. Rev. Fr Antony Prakash Monteiro, Principal of St Philomena College, Puttur concelebrated the Eucharist with Rev. Fr William Menezes and Rev. Fr Gerald Pinto. An accomplished orator, Rev. Fr Monteiro gave a glimpse of the cyber-apostle Carlo Acutis in his homily and called upon the youth to emulate him. He also dwelt on the inspiration of Bishop Fulton J. Sheene.
After the Eucharistic celebration the parishioners were served ice cream. The brass band was ready to entertain the parishioners after the mass. While the elderly tapped feet the rhythm of the band, the young danced to the tune of popular songs.
