The mood was upbeat at Guardian Angel Church on the evening of December 24, 2025. The church premises were decorated with stars and lightings. The seating arrangements were made on the ground in front of the church in the morning by the enthusiastic parishioners who are ready on call to render any help.
As the clock struck 7 in the evening and as the Faithful filled the venue, the choir recited the carols. Following the carols Rev. Fr Naveen Pinto, Resident Priest, concelebrated the Holy Eucharist with the Parish Priest Rev. Fr Fredrick Monteiro and Resident Priest Rev. Fr Stany Fernandes. The parishioners – young and old alike – led the liturgy. After the mass the parishioners exchanged greetings of Christmas.
As usual, entertainment followed the Holy Eucharist. As the members of Stree Sanghatan distributed Christmas cakes sponsored by the Karnataka Bank Limited, the entertainment organised by Young Catholic Students’ Movement of Angelore to fund their annual activities ensued. First, a tableau depicting the events leading up to the birth of Jesus and his message of peace and love was presented by the high school children and YCS members. Mr. Manohar Saldana, renowned Master of Ceremony, fondly known as Manu Bantwal, auctioned the Christmas hamper. Draw of the ‘Christmas Bonanza’ lucky coupons was also carried out. To bring out the creativity of the young and old, since the past few years the YCS has been organising Christmas Card and Star competition. The winners of this competition were announced and prizes were given away. No event is complete without Housie-Housie. As the final event of the celebrations, the YCS members organised the Housie-Housie game to entertain the gathering.
One couldn’t miss the sprightly and talented photographer Master Neil Fernandes clicking photographs. This year too, he captured every moment of the Christmas celebration in his camera to help the parishioners walk down the memory lane several years hence. Relish those moments now and in the years to come.
