CHILDREN’S CHOIR CELEBRATES FEAST OF ST. CECILIA

St. Cecilia was a noble woman of Rome who suffered martyrdom along with her husband in the 2nd or 3rd century AD. The Catholic Church has honoured her as the patroness of musicians. Her feast is celebrated on 22nd November.

The children’s choir of Guardian Angel Church celebrated the feast of St. Cecilia on Friday, 25th November 2022 at the Mini Hall.

The programme commenced with a prayer service. Rev. Fr William Menezes, Parish Priest and Rev. Fr Lawrence Cutinha, Assistant Parish Priest lauded the selfless service of Mrs. Priscilla Sequeira, Mr. Preetham Fernandes, Mrs. Divya Fernandes and Ms. Wencita Dias, who have left no stone unturned in training the children to perfection. They also cited that the number of faithful attending the children’s mass is higher compared to other masses, which they attributed to the melodious singing of the children.

Mr. Noel Pinto, Vice President, Parish Pastoral Council, appreciated the enthusiasm of the children and thanked them for playing their part in helping the faithful participate in the Holy Eucharist actively.

A few games were conducted to entertain the children and add fun to the programme; and prizes were distributed to the winners. The programme concluded with sumptuous dinner.
