Competitions bring the best out of us. They are also an effective way to develop camaraderie, industriousness, collegiality and team spirit. Quiz competitions are an effective way not only to polish our competition skill, but also to acquire knowledge. To provide an avenue to showcase the knowledge and spirit of competition of the parishioners, Angelore Youth Movement in collaboration with the Bible Commission conducted Bible Quiz Competition on 17th September 2023. Rev. Fr Anil Ivan Fernandes, Director of Canara Communications was the quiz master.
In the esteemed presence of the Parish Priest Rev. Fr William Menezes, Socius Vicar Rev. Fr Gerald Pinto, Vice President of the Parish Pastoral Council Mr. Paul Rodrigues, Secretary of the Parish Pastoral Council Mrs. Lolina DSouza, Coordinator of 21 Pastoral Commissions Ms. Renita Menezes, and AYM animator Mrs. Sylvia DSouza the event unfolded seamlessly.
Shaun D’Sa extended a warm welcome to the dignitaries, participants, and attendees, setting the tone for the event. In a record of sorts, all 21 wards actively participated in the quiz.
The title of champions of the coveted Bible Quiz 2023 was clinched by Holy Cross 2 Ward, showcasing their deep biblical knowledge. Lourdes Ward 1 secured the runners-up position, while Lourdes Ward 2 earned the second runners-up accolade.
The Bible Quiz 2023 was a resounding success, distinguished by its contemporary approach and innovative quiz techniques, which captivated the participants and attendees alike.
