The 52nd annual feast of the founder of the Society of St. Vincent Paul, Angelore Parish, that is Blessed Fredrick Ozanam was celebrated in the Church of Guardian Angel, Angelore on Sunday, the 17th of September 2023.
On this day, the main Eucharistic celebration was presided by the spiritual advisor of the SSVP and the Vicar, Rev. Fr William Menezes. All the members of the SSVP, led by the President, Brother Ivan D’Silva, approached the altar in procession.
In his lively homily, Fr Menezes dealt with the virtues of forgiveness and said that unless we forgive our brethren, God will not forgive our sins. He particularly explained the day’s Gospel with historical incidents and events.
Later, a meeting was held at the Golden Jubilee Memorial Hall with the donors, the adopted families and the members of the SSVP. After the initial prayer of the SSVP, the President welcomed the gathering and the guests. On the dais were Rev. Fr William Menezes, Rev. Fr Gerald Pinto, the Vice President and Secretary of the Parish Pastoral Council, President of the regional committee of SSVP Brother George Boromeo and the President Brother Ivan D’Silva
In his Presidential address, Rev. Fr William Menezes congratulated the donors and also the members of the SSVP for doing excellent work. Sister Ida D’Mello gave an account of the mission work that SSVP, Angelore, has done for 2022-23. Sister Rosy Moras, the treasurer, placed before the audience the annual account of the Society. Brother Eugene Lobo thanked the donors and all the participants. Sister Hilda Saldanha compèred the proceedings. Breakfast was served before the meeting.
