The Angelore Youth Movement (AYM), affiliated to the Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM), successfully hosted the "Battles of Mind" inter-ward Bible quiz for parishioners on September 21, 2025. Held at the Golden Jubilee Memorial Hall in Angelore, the event commenced at 3:30 p.m. with a prayer song and a symbolic Bible procession
The competition was led by quizmasters Rev. Fr. Jeevan Lobo, Assistant Parish Priest, Vamanjoor, and Rev. Fr. Naveen Pinto, Socius Priest, Angelore and Diocesan Coordinator of Pastoral Commissions (Mangalore). They were introduced by Daryl Monteiro, followed by a welcome address from AYM President Richael Castelino.
The event was graced by distinguished guests, the Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Fredrick Monteiro, Socius Priest Rev. Fr. Stany Fernandes, Vice President of the Parish Council Mr. Paul Rodrigues, Secretary Mrs. Lolina D'Souza, Coordinator of 21 Commissions Ms. Renita Menezes, and AYM Animator Mrs. Sylvia D'Souza.
Fr. Naveen Pinto briefed the contestants on the rules before the first round began. The rounds included both oral and written sub-rounds. Six teams were eliminated in the first round, followed by another seven in the second, leaving eight teams to advance to the final round. The quiz was highly interactive, with the audience eagerly participating and answering questions between rounds.
At the end of the event, all participants received certificates and mementos. Quizmasters Rev. Fr. Jeevan Lobo and Rev. Fr. Naveen Pinto expressed their gratitude and they were presented with mementos by AYM as a token of appreciation.
The winners were:
· First place: Lourdes Ward 1
· Second place: Gabriel Ward 2
· Third place: Nithyadar Ward 1
The programme, hosted by Nancy Rasquinha, concluded at 6:30 p.m. with a vote of thanks from AYM Secretary Reevina Fernandes.
