A day trip offers a laid-back atmosphere and also instils the values of sharing, cooperation, and social interaction. So on May 5, 2023, a fun and frolic trip was organized for the altar servers and the choir members of Angelore Church to Vismaya Amusement Park, Kannur. Children were accompanied by the assistant parish priest, Rev. Fr. Lawerence Cutinho, Ms Jyothi Monteiro, Mr Preetham Fernandes, Ms Divya Fernandes, Ms Wencita Dias, and Ms Sharitha D’Silva. Children assembled at 6.30 a.m. at the church premises. The journey began with a short prayer led by the parish priest Rev. Fr William Menezes. A bus was arranged to ferry the children to the railway station. At 7.30 am they boarded the train. Breakfast was served in the train, and thereafter children started to sing and play games. Children were very excited to reach the destination. At 10.30 am, they reached the venue, where they organized a surprise farewell to their favourite priest, Rev. Fr Lawerence Cutinho. Verina welcomed all. Children sang farewell song, and Daryl thanked Fr Cutinho for his guidance in all the activities conducted in the church and also how he moulded them to experience God and his love. Fr Cutinho thanked them and wished them the best in their future endeavours.
Children enjoyed greatly while playing water activities; they rode roller coasters, dived into wave pools, played and danced. Playing in the water was a blast for everyone, especially on the slides. Children simply could not resist performing the rain dance. Apart from water games there were dry games in which everyone participated and enjoyed a lot. All reached home at 9.30 p.m. The day was concluded by thanking the Lord for a safe and wonderful trip.
